2024 is an exciting year for us here at CraftyMonkies, not only are we bringing back some regular tutors who you have grown to love, with new and exciting classes and retreats, but also we have a Brand New VIP Member Club commencing 1st June 2024 and we would love you to be a part of it!...

 

Introduction by Rachel Pierman, Owner & CEO of CraftyMonkies:-

Our current twelve-month long VIP Member Club project, hosted by improv-guru, Mr Nicholas Ball (aka @quiltsfromtheattic) is coming to a close on 31 May 2024. Nicholas's Butterfly Quilt project was a wonderful improv journey and our members were beyond excited as their butterflies 'took flight' in a unique learning experience!

 

For our next yearly VIP Member Club content (running from 1st June 2024 through the end of May 2025), we are heading, 'Under The Sea', but this time, not with just one chosen artist at the helm, but SIX! Yes, I have managed to pull together SIX wonderfully creative, inspiring, unique, in-demand quilters to deliver a year-long exploration (via recorded content and live interactive Zoom-Chats) of their quilt-making processes, from beginning to end.

 

What is super-exciting and completely different to anything we've ever done before, is that the six artists involved are all collaborating on one finished piece. How cool is that? As I write this, Victoria van der Laan and Sarah Hibbert have already completed their part of the quilt and Scott Culley is about to add his piecing. Russell Barratt, Jennie Pickett & Trudi Wood will already be keeping a keen eye on developments to date before they step into the fray with their own contributions later in this unique year-long project! 

 

Through monthly video content in our private VIP Member Club members area and a live Zoom-Chat with each artist every other month, you will see our quilters open the quilt fresh from the postman's hands! They will give their opinion of how it looks for the very first time and they will then begin to explain their design process, how they are going to create the shapes to add to the previous quilters work, choose their fabrics, as well as use fabrics sent by the previous artist, make the piecing and attach it to the quilt. All this activity and then the part-assembled quilt is forwarded on to the next artist!...

 

The aim is not only to teach you a myriad of techniques from collage to quilting, FPP to traditional piecing, improv shapes to using sustainable fabrics, this project is also a deep-dive into where to begin designing a quilt, how to put colour and shape together, where to take inspiration from, and perhaps, how to explore ideas, you wouldn't normally delve into. It's a totally unique opportunity to get creative, be inspired and learn from an incredible artist!

 

What You Will Learn by coming to this Online Interactive Zoom-Chat Taster Event:-

If I were thinking about signing up to any kind of monthly commitment, I would want a little taster first.

 

I'd certainly want to ask the teachers I was going to be working with some questions. I'd want to know how the club worked. I'd want to know about my membership, cancellation possibilities, how to pay, where to join, what I would be getting for my money and more. So putting myself in your position, I thought it might be very helpful to have a little FREE taster event! If you sign up, you'll get a free Zoom link to join me, (Rachel) and our lovely six tutors, Victoria van der Laan, Sarah Hibbert, Scott Culley, Russell Barratt, Jennie Pickett and Trudi Wood. We will talk in depth about the club, how it works, what sort of content you will receive, what will the live Zooms look like and (via the magic of screen sharing) I will give you a little sneaky peek into the current VIP members area. I'll show you exactly where the videos are and how to join. You can ask your questions and get everything you need to know to help you make your decision as to if you will join us in June.

 

Another reason you might want to come along to our taster event is to see what it's like on a Zoom class here at CraftyMonkies. You may have never tried a Zoom before, or you may have done other online classes but not tried one with us. You'll get an idea of how our ticketing works, what the ticket looks like, how we host our classes, and a really good feel of what it's like to join in with an event here at CraftyMonkies.

 

It doesn't matter why you come along to our event, and of course there is absolutely no pressure at the end to join the VIP club or take a class. This is just a great opportunity to have a lovely sewing chat for an hour and a half, ask your questions, and then feel free to make any decisions from there.
