How Will The Current Coronavirus Outbreak Affect Planned Events?
Like the vast majority of service providers, employers & industries across the UK, Europe and indeed the world, in light of the current Coronavirus pandemic sweeping the globe, we are taking our lead from the UK Government and it's associated Medical & Scientific Guidelines and have had to postpone/cancel a series of planned live Retreat events in line with current health advice/guidance.
As at November 2020 our 'live' venue events (which usually take place in luxury hotels/facilities across the UK) for such as Sewing & Quilting, ScanNCut, Papercraft, Quilting Masterclasses and Photography workshops have been postponed indefinitely due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic; sadly, these won't resume until such time we are confident that such location events can be booked, scheduled, promoted and delivered without fear of them having to be cancelled without good reasonable cause.
You can keep abreast of News Updates relevant to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on our business via our website and assorted social media platforms (you can find us on Facebook and Instagram (see links on our Home page) in the coming days, weeks and months.
In the meantime, we wish everyone all the very best of physical and mental health in these unprecedented times and hope that something like a 'normal' service we once all knew and took so much for granted might return as soon as possible: until we are all able to get out & about more often without fear of infection, please do remember that our Online Zoom Workshops have proved to be hugely popular and successful for so many crafters who have had their normal movement & craft experiences curtailed by long periods of restriction and the fear of going far from home. We'd urge everyone to explore what's on offer and try an online workshop - it might just be the perfect tonic to what has been months of hardship on so many levels!

How Do I Book An Online Zoom Workshop or Live Retreat?
Online! Simply find the Workshop/Course and relevant date you want on our Workshops page and and add it to your online basket. Please email us if you are struggling via firstname.lastname@example.org with details of what you would like to book or buy; we can guide you through the process.
What Will I Need When Attending The Online Zoom Workshop or Live Retreat?
Please have a look at the full text description for the Workshop/Class you are considering booking. Full details are clearly listed on the Workshops page and also repeated in the Booking Area once you go forward in the online process by activating the 'Book Now' button or any of the text/image hyperlinks on any given page. Our Automated Booking System also ensures that you receive email confirmation of your booking and details of everything you will need for your workshop/class.
What Times Are The Online Zoom Workshops?
Subject to the class/tutor and potential audience, our Online Zoom Workshops generally run for three-hours from 10.00am-1.00pm, 4.00-7.00pm or 6.00-9.00pm. Our all-day Online Zoom Workshops generally run from 10.00am to 5.00pm, with at least an hour off in the middle for a virtual lunch break! All l times published on our website assume BST, or GMT during Autumn/Winter months.

Where Are The Live Retreats Held?
Our aim is to not exclude anyone who wants to come on a CraftyMonkies Workshop/Course/Retreat so when we are through the worst of the current Coronavirus pandemic, we aim to once again be hosting regional events at luxury venues across the UK. We use a wide variety of different & engaging venues/locations, so please have a look at the course you are booking to gain full details of the venue with the relevant address & access information. We will also email you with confirmation of your Workshop/Course/Retreat including details of location, once you have booked your place.
Is There Free Car Parking At Your Live Retreats?
This is really important to us as we don’t want you to incur any more costs on your day. We try our utmost to choose venues that have free car parking. They are all different venues, so please have a look at the Workshop/Course/Retreat you are booking for full details of the venue with address and parking facilities. We will also email you with confirmation of your booking and details of location.
Do I Need My Own Sewing Machine on a Live Retreat?
Yes and no! If you are booking a sewing workshop it will list if it is machine-based or hand-sewing. If it is a machine-based workshop, then we generally have 3-4 machines available for people to use by prior negotiation, on a 'first-come, first-served' basis; if they are requested then unless specified, YES you will need your own machine! Interestingly from a survey we undertook, people actually preferred to use their own machine as they ‘knew them inside out’ and it makes learning easier on the day, meaning they can focus on the tasks/project at hand!
Can I Bring My Own Fabric on a Live Retreat?
If you have something special you would like to use you are most welcome to bring it along.
What If A Online Zoom Workshop/Class or live Retreat is Cancelled?
We reserve the right to cancel an Online Zoom Workshop/Class or Live Retreat if we have insufficient applicants, or the tutor is unwell and we are unable to find a replacement tutor at short notice. Likewise, if the scheduled venue is unable to host a Live Retreat (due to such unforeseen circumstances as staff illness, power-outage, flooding, fire damage, viral outbreak, etc), we reserve the right to cancel an event. In such (rare, if ever!) instances, you will be given the option to transfer to another Online Zoom Workshop/Class or Live Retreat or receive a refund.
What If I Can't Attend an Online Zoom Workshop or Live Retreat I Have Booked?
Our terms and conditions are that we only offer refunds in the event of an Online Zoom Workshop/Class or Live Retreat being cancelled due to insufficient numbers of applicants or unforseeable circumstances (see previous paragraph). Once you have booked and paid for an Online Zoom Workshop/Class or Live Retreat it is otherwise non-refundable. In very exceptional circumstances we may be able to resell a space, if we have a waiting list. In that instance, we will issue a refund minus a 15% administration charge.

How Do I Review An Online Zoom Workshop/Class or Live Retreat?
At our live events we always try to hand out a Customer Feedback form on the day of your workshop/class; if time does not allow for you to complete that on the day, then we will ask that you post it back to us. Please do fill one out if you can as client feedback is extremely important/invaluable to us as we develop the company!
