How Will The Current Coronavirus Outbreak Affect Planned Events?
Like the vast majority of service providers, employers & industries across the UK and Europe, in light of the current Coronavirus pandemic sweeping the country, we are taking our lead from the Government and it's associated Medical & Scientific Guidelines and will be postponing/cancelling upcoming events in line with current health advice/guidance, as and when appropriate.
At this moment in time our Sewing & Quilting, ScanNCut & Photography events at Wivenhoe House Hotel (originally planned for Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th March 2020), have been postponed and re-arranged for Saturday 3rd October & Sunday 4th October 2020. The majority of clients who made bookings for the original dates of this event (Sat 28/3/20 and Sun 29/3/20) have already told us that they're happy to attend on the re-arranged dates; for those unable to attend the new dates, we would ask you to please get in touch via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) to discuss attending an alternative event/venue at a future date or to arrange for a full refund of money you might have paid in advance.
Regarding all our remaining scheduled events this year (with the the next Quilting & Photography courses set to take place at Doxford Hall Hotel, Alnwick on Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th May 2020), these very much remain 'live' at the time of writing but, ultimately, whether they can go ahead will depend on Government advice and decisions of the host venues nearer the time of each event. Wherever possible, we will be liaising with our fellow service providers to postpone and re-arrange scheduled courses (should such action be necessary due to the prolonged effects of COVID-19) rather than cancelling them, as it seems that the majority of clients want to enjoy their 'CraftyMonkies fix' as soon as is possible and, more importantly, safe to do so!

What Will I Need For The Course/Workshop/Retreat?

What Time Are The Course/Workshop/Retreats?
Generally our Workshops run from 9.30am to 4.30am, with refreshments in the morning & afternoon and a break in the middle of the day for lunch (all of which is included in your Workshop/Course/Retreat fee)! Please have a look at the Workshop/Course/Retreat you are booking. We will also email you with confirmation of your booking and details of timings.
Where Are The Courses/Workshops/Retreats Held?
Our aim is to not exclude anyone who wants to come on our Workshop/Course/Retreat so in time we will be working regionally. They are all different venues, so please have a look at the course you are booking for full details of the venue with address. We will also email you with confirmation of your booking and details of location.
Is There Free Car Parking?
This is really important to us as we don’t want you to incur any more costs on your day. We try our utmost to choose venues that have free car parking. They are all different venues, so please have a look at the Workshop/Course/Retreat you are booking for full details of the venue with address and parking facilities. We will also email you with confirmation of your booking and details of location.
Do I Need My Own Sewing Machine?
Yes and no! If booking a sewing workshop it will list if it is machine-based or hand-sewing. If it is a machine-based workshop, then we have 3-4 machine available for you, it's a first come first served basis, if they are requested then unless specified, YES you will need your own machine! Interestingly from a survey we undertook, people actually preferred to use their own machines as they ‘know them inside out’ and it makes learning easier on the day, meaning they can focus on the tasks at hand!
Can I Bring My Own Fabric?
If you have something special you would like to use you are most welcome to bring it along.
What If A Course/Workshop/Retreat Is Cancelled?
We reserve the right to cancel a Workshop/Course/Retreat if we have insufficient applicants, or the tutor is unwell and we are unable to find a replacement tutor. In such (rare, if ever!) instances, you will be given the option to transfer to another Workshop/Course/Retreat or receive a refund.
What If I Can't Come On The Course/Workshop/Retreat I Have Booked?
Our terms and conditions are that we only offer refunds in the event of a Workshop/Course/Retreat being cancelled due to insufficient numbers of applicants or unforseeable circumstances. Once you have booked and paid for a Workshop/Course/Retreat it is otherwise non-refundable. In very exceptional circumstances we may be able to resell a space, if we have a waiting list. Then we will issue a refund minus a 15% administration charge.
