If you were with us here at CraftyMonkies a few years ago, you might remember Daisy Aschehoug from one of our VIP Clubs, where she gave us six glorious hours of hand stitching in her beautiful boro class. When I bumped into Daisy at the Festival of Quilts, we both agreed it was high time we worked together again, and I’m thrilled to say we are!

Make the headline quilt from this year’s Festival of Quilts show! Alternating pinks and reds create a floral explosion, and the subtle spin in the petals adds movement to a traditional flower design. The 6 inch quarter circle square is good starting point for beginners, and the number of quarter circle square units in this quilt creates lots of opportunities to practice sewing curves.

 

What You Will Learn in this Online Interactive Workshop:-

Grow your curved piecing confidence as you create your own Bloomerang quilt! Participants will deepen their understand of curved piecing with expert guidance every step of the way. We’ll cover tips for cutting, basting, pressing, trimming, and joining your curves. Ever wondered when to use a scant quarter inch? We’ll cover that, too!

 

Skill Level for this Online Interactive Workshop:

eg Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced:-All Levels

The project is a perfect opportunity for beginners to try out curved piecing and for experts to practice and gain extra knowledge.

 

Equipment requirements for this Online Interactive Workshop:-

 

·       Quilting with Curves book

·       Rotary cutter and cutting mat

·       Long ruler (18” or longer)

·       Square ruler 6 1/2”

·       Iron

·       Sewing machine with thread

·       Pins

·       Glue stick/pen (like those made by

·       Sewline, Quilters Select, or Fons

·       and Porter.)

 

Fabric requirements for this Online Interactive Workshop:-

Fabric requirements are found with the pattern in Quilting with Curves. The 72” square quilt uses approximately 7 ½ yards of fabric.
