For this extraordinary year-long journey, we’ve brought together six phenomenal, in-demand quilt artists - Pat Pauly, David Owen Hastings, Matt Wilding, Cas Holmes, Vendulka Battais and Ali McCathren - to collaborate with you.

 

Together, you’ll witness (and be part of) the creation of a powerful collective quilt that will culminate in a competition entry at the renowned Festival of Quilts. Through beautifully filmed, watch-anytime content and monthly live interactive Zoom chats, you’ll follow each artist’s process from first idea to final stitch - the decisions, the risks, the breakthroughs. This isn’t just about watching; it’s about growth.

 

You'll be encouraged to make your own creations using the skills our artists have used in their two months worth of content. However, you don't have to make a single thing, we won't be judging you! Although we’re challenging you to elevate your skills, stretch your creativity, and uncover your inner artist - while simultaneously challenging six master makers to push their own boundaries in a bold collaborative vision, you can sit back and enjoy the ride however you choose to do so!

So, 'How do we see behind the scenes?'

Through beautifully filmed, chapter-based videos (so you don't have to watch it all in one go), you’ll step inside each artist’s creative process from first spark to final stitch. The only brief we’ve given our artists is four simple words: 'Where Is The Love?'

• What does that mean to them?

• Where does their mind go first?

• What stories, emotions, or experiences rise to the surface?

• What do they make?

 

Love isn’t just romance - it’s connection, care, community, devotion, resilience. For example, for artist Cas Holmes, love may be deeply intertwined with her role as a carer to her husband - a powerful, personal perspective that could shape her creative response.

 

Each artist will interpret the theme through their own lens, their own life, and their own artistic voice - making this collaboration rich, meaningful, and completely unique. We will watch as they mull over:-​

And how do six independent creatives work in harmony to build one unified piece?
