Fashionable Quilted Jacket!
We're absolutely delighted to welcome NEW tutor Vendulka Battais into the CraftyMonkies spotlight for her wonderful Fashionable Quilted Jacket workshop! So many of our customers have been yearning for this type of project and we're only too delighted to accommodate.
We should stress that it would be IMPOSSIIBLE to make/finish a quilted jacket from start to finish within three hours. This class is very much an intensive overview of what it takes to create such a garment and Vendulka will be imparting her considerable knowledge/skills via this tutorial workshop, with the aid of supporting props & videos. All students who sign up for the workshop will have access to a CraftyMonkies Zoom-Chat with Vendulka approximately one month after the class so that you can show your makes and get feedback on anything that might be causing a stumbling block.
You WONT be sewing along in this class (unless you want to practice parts of the class or anything you like). It's a three hour class with pre made videos by Vendulka and her explaining and answering questions in-between. We ran a similar class with Geri in Stitches for her tee-shirt dress, and also Carolina Oneto, both successful formats!
Here's the super-talented & hugely engaging Vendulka to tell you all about her class...

Introduction to Vendulka:-
When it comes to sewing, Vendulka’s passion started with dressmaking. As a teenager in post communistic Czech Republic (now known as Czechia) she learned to make clothes that fitted her petite figure and no one else had. When she was introduced to quilting it didn’t take long until she found a way to combine her two passions into making quilted jackets. One of her first jackets has won the First Runner-Up in Wearable Art at the Pacific International Quilt Festival, USA.

What you will learn on this Online Interactive Workshop:-
In this workshop you will learn everything you will need in order to embark on the journey of making quilted jackets! We will discuss the choices of dressmaking patterns, fabrics, how to ensure a good fit, how to tame the bulky seams and make them look really neat - all the way through to the finishing touches and making your jacket unique. This really will prove to be an an invaluable class on your onward dressmaking/garment-making journey!...

Skill Level for this Online Interactive Workshop:-

Material requirements for this Online Interactive Workshop:-
Making a quilted jacket is a lengthy process. You wont need to bring materials to class, remember you will have the whole process explained with lots of images and videos. Each of the many sections will finish with a Q&A session so that you can ask questions along the way. In order to make the right choices, when it comes to patterns, fabric and other decisions, you need to listen to the whole workshop; unfortunately due to the nature of the project, there is no way for you to work along the way, but you will know EXACTLY what fabrics you will need and how much by the end of the class, when you choose to take your time and make the jacket!

Fabric requirements for this Online Interactive Workshop:-
If you have a fabric or dressmaking pattern that you were always dreaming about turning into a quilted jacket, please bring it with you to the class and we can look at it in one of the Q&A sessions.

To make the most of this class, Vendulka recommends that you have a notepad and a pen to take notes.
