Thread Painting!
We're really excited to be hosting this Thread Painting workshop with the wonderfully engaging & hugely talented Sarah Spencer! This class will see participants engage in this highly relaxing/inspiring art - here's Sarah to tell you all about it!…

Introduction by Sarah:-
Take your stitching skills in a fun and creative new direction in this innovative new class! During this three hour workshop, I’m going to show you how I translate my simple ink drawings into stitched thread paintings. I’ll break down my process, sharing my tools and tricks every step of the way.
Together, we’ll create simple drawings in a subject matter of your choosing. I’ll share tools to take away any anxiety around drawing, breaking down the process into a logical, step-by-step formula. Next, we’ll stitch our drawings onto raw cotton canvas using free-motion stitching, and we’ll finish with a demonstration on stretching your thread painting onto a wooden frame for display.
During the class, I’ll also share my technique for working with acrylic paint to create mixed-media thread paintings. NOTE: I’ve included the painting supplies as optional material requirements, so you may choose to create your artwork either with OR without paint. I will demonstrate the painting technique during class, though fir your artwork, please allow the paint to dry before stitching. This will be an action packed three hours that will have you working with fabric and thread in a whole new way! I can't wait to welcome you aboard...
