Introduction by Sarah:-
When I have appeared at various workshops across the country, people always come up to me and talk about free motion quilting. It's often something that terrifies people, which is why I've called this class, free motion for the terrified! I firmly believe that at the end of our hour and a half together, you are going to be much more confident, and in a relaxed state of mind when it comes to free motion quilting. When you get used to it, and can achieve the basics, it's amazing how addictive it becomes, and how fast you will get better and better. I'm super excited about this class, mostly because in a recent online class a few ladies asked if I would consider teaching it, Rachel and I literally arranged it in that class and there were some pre-bookings! Here's your chance to grab your place and come and have some fun!
What You Will Learn in this Online Interactive Workshop:-
Once you have grown tired of stitch in the ditch, and straight-line quilting, grab a bit of fabric and let your quilting diva loose! Free motion quilting is the way to create truly unique designs to compliment your finished quilt and make it stand out from the crowd. Free-Motion Quilting can be used to add texture to the quilt – the closer the design is quilted, the stiffer the quilt will become. This means that tight quilting can be used to add structure to bags, and larger quilting will result in a snuggly, comforting quilt.
Free-Motion quilting is beautiful for fancy quilting patterns, with decorative possibilities limited only by your imagination. The basic premise is that if you can draw a design on a piece of paper without lifting your pencil off the surface - then you can use it as a free-motion design.
Free-Motion machine quilting requires some practice to master, but the main tips for getting a great result are:-
1. Prepare
2. Practice
3. Relax
We're going to do all that and more!
