Online Interactive Workshop: Colourful Courthouse Steps

It's always wonderful to welcome new talent to the CraftyMonkies team so it goes without saying that we're chuffed to bits to lay down the coir "Welcome" mat to another top US-based crafter, Kim Niedzwiecki, who will be delivering a fabulous workshop entitled Colourful Courthouse Steps!...

Introduction by Kim:-

Hi there! My name is Kim and I'm a self-taught sewing enthusiast who started to sew when my fourth child was born, almost 14 years ago. Pregnancy caused my brain to dump all information ever learned about crochet (never to return!) and when looking for baby clothes, I was not happy with either the price nor the juvenile look of baby boy items. Armed with a 1980’s Kenmore machine and no knowledge, I started sewing!

First up was re-upholstering furniture, wet bags for nappies, and then to bibs. The next realm to my thrill-sewing-adventure was quilting! The Go-Go Kim blog was started and with it were tutorials, giveaways and all kinds of sewing adventures! Next, I added garment sewing to my thrill-sewing-adventures, with a few bags thrown in too! On top of this, I have worked in the sewing industry behind the scenes as a social media manager for major brands for nearly ten years. I've taught on Sewing Retreats - both online and in-person. Showing people how much fun it can be to sew is one of my biggest joys! I very much hope you'll join me in February!...

What You Will Learn in this Online Interactive Workshop:-

Let’s get scrappy! Be prepared for a little mess and... Oh, so much fun!!! In the Colourful Courthouse Steps workshop, you will learn the joys of building the Log Cabin Courthouse Steps Quilt Block while making use of your scraps to create a beautiful quilt that will be loved dearly for many years to come! You will also learn how to create fun fussy cuts for the center of the blocks. Once you learn how to make fussy cuts, you will want to find even more ways to add them to your quilts!
