Online Interactive Workshop: Wired & Beaded Daffodils (French Beading)

Spring will most definitely be in the air by 6th March (we hope!) and we're delighted to once again be welcoming the hugely talented & versatile (not to mention lovely!) Sarah Payne for her latest workshop: Beaded & Wired Daffodils which you will create via the French Beading technique!

Introduction by Sarah:-

This is the perfect project if you fancy having a go at French Beading or beading flowers with wire. These daffodils are guaranteed to make you feel the warmth of Spring and will last you forever. They can be made as free-standing flowers to display in a vase or kept as flower-heads and made into brooches or necklaces. The choice is yours – the perfect Mother’s Day or Easter gift, or just for you to enjoy at home!

What You Will Learn in this Online Interactive Workshop:-

If you're wanting to learn French Beading, you've come to the right place! French Beading is a traditional beading technique using wire and it is very effective. You will be threading seed beads onto wire, then shaping them to create petals, leaves and flowers. For this project we will be creating a beautiful daffodil!

Skill Level for this Online Interactive Workshop:-

Beginners

Material requirements for this Online Interactive Workshop:-

Supplies per daffodil:-

• 10g of size 11 seed beads – yellow
• For the leaves - 5g of size 11 seed beads – Green
• Wire – 0.3mm or 0.4mm in Silver or Gold – you will need about 2m per flower.

Equipment requirements for this Online Interactive Workshop:-

• Wire-snippers or sturdy Scissors for cutting the wire.

NOTE: Beads may be sold in 100g bags and the wire in 20m which will make 10 flowers for about £5 – so great value too!

If you want them to stand upright you will need some florist wire and florist stem tape.

You can get supplies from a number of different outlets including Amazon and Totally Beads

Preparation for this Online Interactive Workshop

You can prepare before the class by threading beads onto approx. 50cm of piece of the beading wire. Do not cut the end of the wire, leave it attached to the spool so you can just feed it off as you need it.
