Online Interactive Workshop: Easy Drunkard's Path Block
The indefatiguable & splendid Sarah Payne returns in February to deliver an absolutely superb quilt block class, namely the Easy Drunkard's Path Block. In the wrong hands this project can be a daunting undertaking, but with Sarah & the method she's devised, we're confident you'll get to grips with the project early on and have a most wonderful/fulfilling time!...
I just love a Drunkards Path quilt! It is eye catching and looks tricky, but with a few tips and tricks Sarah will show you how this can be one of the easiest blocks to master. No curved piecing trauma on this class.
What You Will Learn in this Online Interactive Workshop:-
You will learn how to make curved blocks quickly, easily and stress-free. Sarah will show you how you can create blocks of whatever size you like without drafting so you can create this complex looking design. Sarah will also show you how to place your blocks and create unique quilts or smaller items like cushions and bags. Once you master this technique you will be weaving in a drunkard fashion in no time. Sarah will proved you with a selection of layouts to get your creative juices flowing and you will also look at options for quilting once you have decided how big a project you want to make. You will learn how to vary the sizes of your path for even more interest.
Skill Level for this Online Interactive Workshop:-
This is aimed at beginners as well as improvers. You will make at least 4 blocks during the class, but there is scope to make more if you like. You can choose what you want to make with this technique.
Material/Fabric requirements for this Online Interactive Workshop:-
- 1m of background fabric and a small selection of fabrics measuring at least 10 inches across (layer cake size). A couple of fat 1/4s will be fine too.
- 1m of sew-in light or medium weight stabiliser, or a piece of calico, or an old white pillowcase (you can recycle them).
- If you wish to precut, you can cut a 13 inch square of the background fabric before the class but this is not necessary.
Equipment requirements for this Online Interactive Workshop:-
A selection of plates from your kitchen (a variety of sizes from dinner down to side plates – just so long as they are round)!
