Online Interactive Workshop: Rosa Supply Case
We're absolutely delighted to welcome aboard a BRAND NEW face to the stellar team of CraftyMonkies craft experts: the lovely, engaging & hugely talented Jennie Pickett, all the way from the USA - where many of you may well recognise her from the Clover & Violet brand! In this, her inaugural project with us, Jennie is going to teach you how to make her fabulous Clover & Violet Rosa Supply Case - and we have no doubt that you're going to absolutely love it!...
Introduction by Jennie:-
I have always loved organising and sewing pouches and organisers to keep projects separate. The Rosa Supply Case is designed to hold whatever supplies you want to organise, keep them together, and provide the perfect place to store things while you’re on the go. The outer zipper keeps all your things secure, while the inside pockets ensure that there’s a place for everything. I'm sure you're going to just LOVE this class and very much hope you'll join me!...
What You Will Learn in this Online Interactive Workshop:-
Learn to install two types of zippers and bias binding to create a zip-around organiser that’s functional and can be used for sewing, knitting, crochet, art, planners, or a travel wallet that perfectly fits passports. The case is secured with an external zipper and has two interior zipper sections and four pockets. The finished case measures 7” x 9” closed and 14” x 9” open.
Skill Level for this Online Interactive Workshop:-
Intermediate - Understanding of using the sewing machine, pre-cutting fabrics, and familiarity or desire to learn to sew zippers are required to sew the case. This workshop is appropriate for someone who has not sewn zippers before, but must have a working knowledge of sewing. All fabrics and interacting for this workshop must be pre-cut to allow for time to sew and assemble the case and to install the zippers and bias tape during the workshop. A video detailing the zipper and binding will be provided with the pattern for reference as well.
Material requirements for this Online Interactive Workshop:-
- Two 9” (23cm) zippers
- One 24” (60cm) handbag zipper, or 24” of continuous zipper tape, jacket zipper or other No. 5 zipper. This zipper has wider zipper tape which is necessary for the outer of the case
- 10” x 15” sew-in foam such as Pellon Flex Foam or byAnnie Soft and Stable OR two layers of batting
- ½ yard medium woven interfacing such as Pellon SF101 or Viline Woven G700 or Legacy L101 OR cut a second lining fabric panel and place wrong sides together to give the pocket more structure
- Matching thread for sewing and top stitching

Scrap fabrics are suitable for this project, as the majority of the pieces are small. If using scraps, follow cutting instructions for sizes:-
- 1 Fat Eighth Linen (cover spine)
- 1 Fat Quarter (Cover & Lining Panels)
- 1 Fat Quarter (Lining & Large Pockets)
- 1 Fat Quarter (Bias Tape)
- 1 Fat Eighth (Small Pockets)

Use 3 Fat Quarters to sew the case if the number of prints is unimportant.
Fabric & Interfacing requirements for this Online Interactive Workshop:-
Please pre-cut all your fabric and interfacing, we will sew the case in the workshop, but will begin with pre-cut fabrics. We will fuse the interfacing during the workshop. I’ve included a printable label sheet to help you organise before the workshop. All measurements are listed width x height, if using directional fabric, more fabric may be required. A Fat Quarter is 21” x 18” and a Fat Eighth is 21” x 9”.
