Introduction by Charan:-
Hi, I'm Charan, and I'm delighted that I'll be joining you and CraftyMonkies for the first time in 2022 to teach the very real passion I have for... KNITTING! In this mini-series of 3 x 90-minute classes over Wednesday 4th, Wednesday 11th and Wednesday 18th May (each class runs from 7.00-8.30pm, BST) we will be focusing on creating the various important parts that will eventually constitute you having made the most fabulous pair of Knitted Bed Socks, a skill that you can then take forward and ensure your sock-drawer (not to mention the sock-drawers of your cherished family members & friends!) contains an abundance of hand-crafted, beautiful garments to enrobe your precious tootsies - I really do hope you'll join myself & Rachel for this mini-series of workshops!
What you will learn in this Online Interactive Workshop mini-series:-
Knitted Bed Socks: Part 1 - Wednesday 04 May 2022 - 19.00-20.30 BST:
You will learn simple ways to measure your foot and the skills required to cast on your socks from the Toe up. Learn different cast on methods and options for different shapes for the toe of your sock. We will continue working on the foot of the socks.
For homework, you will then knit the rest of the foot till you reach the heel.
Knitted Bed Socks: Part 2 - Wednesday 11 May 2022 - 19.00-20.30 BST:
You will now learn how to knit the heel and variations to fit your foot. We will focus mainly on the Fish Lip Kiss Heel. After completing the heel in class with me we will continue knitting on the leg of the sock.
For homework, you will continue knitting the rest of the leg and start knitting the ribbed cuff.
Knitted Bed Socks: Part 3 - Wednesday 18 May 2022 - 19.00-20.30 BST:
The focus on this class will be to learn how to do a stretchy bind-off so you can pull your socks up with ease. Options for attendees who wish to knit the socks cuff down will also be covered along with performing the Kitchener stitch.
