2 circular paper templates – the base of a mug is a great size. One should be approx half an inch smaller than the other.

Reverse Appliqué Circles
We’re going to add a reverse applique circle to each of the blocks we make but we’ll do a practice one first.
10 6” squares of fabric, a mix of solids and prints would be good.
A marking tool; chalk or a pen
Circular template – the base of a mug is a great size!
 
Foundation Pieced Strippy Block with Reverse Appliqué Circle
Multiple fabric strips of various lengths and widths from short and fat to long and skinny and everything in between. Various weights and types of fabric are fine to use.
4 x 12” square of lightweight fabric – calico or something like that, a bed sheet etc. even paper would do but you then have to take that out ☹
 
Nine Patch Hack with Reverse Appliqué Circle
Two lots of 18 x 3” squares of fabric for one hacked block. One plain and one print would be perfect.
 
HST Hack with Reverse Appliqué Circle
10 6” squares of contrasting fabric.
Create 20 HSTs join in rows, hack the rows and join and rehack.
Insert circle
