Hi there! I really hope you'll come and join me in my next CraftyMonkies workshop, in which we’ll be making a fabulous, roomy Canvas Tote Bag! The bag finishes at 13’’ wide on the bottom x 12’’ tall x 6’’ deep and would make a wonderfully sturdy shopper or a weekender Tote. Believe me when I say: "You're going to love it!!!"

 

What You Will Learn in this Online Interactive Workshop:-

  • What materials work best for this lovely Canvas Tote Bag

  • How to use a two slider Zipper and how to add fabric tabs to each end for a professional looking finish

  • How to install an Inset Zipper to keep all your belongings securely inside the Tote

As always, I’ll share lots of tips & tricks along the way to ensure your finished Tote is as beautiful as possible!

Material requirements for this Online Interactive Workshop:-

FABRIC A (Exterior of the Bag)

Canvas, Essex linen, cotton/linen blend fabric, denim, medium weight home décor fabric

FABRIC B (Lining)

Duck canvas, denim, or home decor fabric

INTERFACING

Pellon SF101 or Vlieseline G700 for both exterior and lining of the bag. Use 1 yard of Pellon TP971 or Vlieseline H640 fusible fleece or even Soft and Stable by Annie for the exterior instead if you want your finished bag to be more structured.

ZIPPER

#5 two-slider closed bottom zipper or #5 zipper by the foot + two zipper pulls

WEBBING (Handles)

1’’ - 1 1⁄4’’ wide medium weight polyester or cotton webbing

 

Fabric requirements for this Online Interactive Workshop:-

(These fabric requirements are based on 42'' wide fabric)

FABRIC A (Exterior + Inset Zipper) – 3/4 yard

FABRIC B (Lining) – 1/2 yard

MEDIUM WEIGHT FUSIBLE INTERFACING (Pellon SF101 or Vlieseline G700) – 2 yards

#5 NYLON ZIPPER – One (1) x 22'' or longer

WEBBING - Two (2) x 50’’ long strips

 

Supplies & Equipment required for this Online Interactive Workshop:-

  • Sewing-Machine

  • Cutting Mat

  • Ruler

  • Rotary Cutter

  • Wonder Clips and/or Pins

  • Disappearing Fabric Marker or Fine Chalk Pen

  • Utility Scissors

  • Fabric Shears

  • Zipper Foot for your sewing-machine

  • 90/14 Needle for your sewing-machine

  • Standard pressing and sewing supplies

  • Good quality Polyester Thread - Svetlana's favorite is Guttermann
