Online Interactive Workshop: Crochet Monkie

Introduction:-

Play hooky with Sarah Payne and make one of our adorable CraftyMonkies in our first Online Crochet Class! Based on kit availability (kits will be mailed out alternatively with a 'lucky dip' scenario determining which Monkie you get!), you will make either Nikki, an adorable female 'monkie' with a yellow dress and matching bow details or Bryan, a cheeky-looking cute male 'monkie' wearing a cap and shortie dungarees in this kit-based class with our multi-talented, crafty tutor Sarah.

What You Will Learn in this Online Interactive Workshop:-

Each monkey is created in spirals so we will be crocheting in the round to make the different monkey body parts using the ‘magic ring’ technique.

Sarah will show you how to start and stop, different holds for the yarn and hook as well as how to stitch count, increase and decrease. There will be lots of practice using the basic stitches: chain, double crochet, slip stitch, treble, half treble, double treble. There’s a small amount of embroidery to add the facial features.

Your finished monkey will be approx 22cm in height.

Skill Level for this Online Interactive Workshop:-

This workshop is aimed at those who are already confident with the very basics of crochet like how to make a chain and creating a row of double crochet stitches and are ready progress into the round and build on their crocheting skills.

Material/Equipment requirements for this Online Interactive Workshop:-

The cost of this workshop includes a specially designed crochet monkey kit complete with pattern, three colours of cotton yarn, stuffing material and safety eyes, so almost everything to make either Nikki or Bryan but you will also need:

· 2.5mm crochet hook

· Darning or tapestry needle

· Stitch markers are optional, but very helpful!

Pattern Information relevant to this Online Interactive Workshop:-

A pattern is included inside our CraftyMonkies Nikki & Bryan kit packages. It is written in multiple languages including English, French, German and Dutch. The instructions use American terminology: ie a single crochet (SC) in US terms is actually a double crochet (DC) in English terms, and there is a separate chart included in the mail-out of the kit to cover this!

A gentle reminder - as the Nikki/Bryan kits are ESSENTIAL to take part in this class, please allow enough time to buy your ticket and receive your kit before the class date!

Tickets for this Online Interactive Workshop (via the Zoom platform) will be limited to 22 to ensure plenty of one-to-one tuition during the class & will be allocated on a first-come/first-served basis! The kits and any other information, relevant to this course will be forwarded to you after booking and approximately 10 days before the course date. The ticket price of £35.00 includes your crochet kit and postage & packing of said kit: please note that we wil distribute the Nikki & Bryan kits alternatively and cannot confirm which one you will receive, but rest assured that both are equally adorable! The ticket price is based on ONE person attending this crafting class.
