We're delighted to welcome back Lucy Engels once again into the CraftyMonkies spotlight; Lucy's unique take on quilting is proving hugely popular with our crafting audience and today's class is entitled: Strings!

Introduction by Lucy:-

Strings is my latest pattern, released in April 2021. Dipping back to the 80’s and 90’s dance scene for inspiration, this quilt represents a pounding base line! Full of clashing colour and striking stripes (Strings) it allows whoever makes it to dance with a bold colour palette. Making a striking mini, wall quilt or if you are brave enough, a throw. This quilt can be made using traditional piecing or foundation paper piecing and I'm sure you're going to love making it!...

What You Will Learn in this Online Interactive Workshop:-

You will learn how to piece skinny strips accurately, chain piecing and beginner level foundation paper piecing. While considering colour as you go. This class will provide an opportunity to ask questions and kickstart your own Strings quilt!

Skill Level for this Online Interactive Workshop:-

This class is ideal for the Confident Beginner - and those that love to play with colour!

Material requirements for this Online Interactive Workshop:-

• Thread
• Rotary Cutter
• Cutting Mat
• Iron
• Quilting Ruler

Fabric requirements for this Online Interactive Workshop:-

Minimum fabric requirement:-

• 1/2m fabric for the background
• FQ (Fat-Quarter - note: Skinny-Quarter preferred) for your strings or a selection of reasonable sized scraps.

Equipment requirements for this Online Interactive Workshop:-

• Sewing-Machine
• 1/4” Sewing Foot

Pattern Information relevant to this Online Interactive Workshop:-

Participants will receive a PDF copy of the Strings pattern and the Foundation Paper templates before the class and after the official release date of the pattern (which is 24th April 2021).

​Tickets for this Online Interactive Workshop (via the Zoom platform) will be limited & allocated on a first-come/first-served basis! If applicable, any free pattern, or other information, relevant to this course will be forwarded to you after booking and approximately 5 days before the course date. The ticket price of £30.00 is based on ONE person attending this crafting class.
