We're absolutely delighted to announce that we’ve finally pinned  (get the pun?) down American quilt artist (and now Met Gala garment-maker) Zak Foster!!! We’re jumping with joy to announce Zak's first class with CraftyMonkies. It’s been a wee while coming but, believe us, it will be so worth the wait! Not only will you learn some wonderful traditional hand-sewing techniques (as Zak describes below) but this class will also provide you with a wonderful opportunity to connect with this international artist in a really intimate and immersive space.

In this magical workshop Zak will take you on a personal creative journey as you make your ‘one of a kind’ Talisman Tiny Quilt. This class is slightly different to our other classes as we will offer you not only the chance to work and sew alongside Zak, but you'll really get to know him as an artist and learn the story behind his processes: you'll get to ask questions about his approach, the journey that got him to where he is today and gain an insight into his magical world. A truly unique three-hour experience to both savour and delight in here with CraftyMonkies!.

How do we harness the power of fabric to make manifest our intentions? Great question!

In this workshop, we'll cover classic hand-sewing techniques like the running stitch, back stitch, and tailors knot. Perfect for all skill levels, we will make a small hand-sized quilt from start to finish that will teach you many of the hand-sewing skills you can use in larger quilting projects. Participants are encouraged to bring at least one item of what I like to call 'magical power'!...

Material & Equipment requirements for this Online Interactive Workshop:-

• An object of intention (examples include: a scrap of meaningful fabric, ribbon or trim, a button, beads, anything that you can figure out how to sew on to your Talisman Mini Quilt)
• A few scraps of fabric that carry some meaning for you
• A spool of thread
• A few inches of string or cord
• A needle
• A pair of scissors

​Tickets for this Online Interactive Workshop (via the Zoom platform) will be limited & allocated on a first-come/first-served basis! If applicable, any free pattern, or other information, relevant to this course will be forwarded to you after booking and approximately 5 days before the course date. The ticket price of £30.00 is based on ONE person attending this crafting class.
