Online Interactive Workshop: Curved Piecing Baubles Table-Runner
From far-flung balmy climes (we can see Jude chuckling at this!), the lovely Judith Hollies teams up with the CraftyMonkies once again, this time to deliver a skills-based class where she teaches you how to perfect your Curved-Piecing skills via her Bauble Table-Runner workshop!
Introduction by Jude:-
I've been teaching patchwork & quilting for 13 years. Many of my patterns and designs have been featured in quilting publications and I am particularly passionate about re-purposing textiles, working with denim and using scraps in my designs. My latest CraftyMonkies project sees us get to grips with Drunkard's Path units (Curved Piecing) - once you get the hang of making these Drunkard’s Path units, a whole new world of curved pieced designs and patterns will open up to you: I very much hope you'll join me!...
What You Will Learn in this Online Interactive Workshop:-
Drunkard’s Path units (Curved Piecing) create these beautiful ‘bauble shapes’. Banish your fear of sewing curves with a quick ‘no pin’ technique. This is a great project for using up co-ordinated scraps (4”-5” square) - you can even plan ahead by using festive fabrics to create a seasonal runner for Christmas 2021! The co-ordinated placemats complete the set.
While we won’t get the full runner and mats completed in the workshop, you will learn how to make all the component parts. A FREE, comprehensive pattern covering how to assemble and finish the runner and mats will be provided at the end of the workshop.
During this Online Interactive Workshop you will learn:-
* The ‘no pin’ method of sewing Drunkard’s Path units
* How to create the ‘Baubles’ block variations (table runner & mats)
* How to assemble the table runner top and a mat
* How to make continuous bias binding
Skill Level for this Online Interactive Workshop:-
Advanced Beginner/intermediate– has confident use of their sewing machine, how to accurately measure and cut fabric using a rotary cutter & ruler & how to achieve different seam allowances on your machine i.e scant ¼”, ¼” and 3/8”.
