Online Interactive Workshop: Denim Zippy Pouch

The lovely, warm and hugely engaging/talented Judith Hollies kicks-off her 2021 'Monkies' campaign with this fabulous Denim Zippy Pouch workshop; you can choose whether to make Pouch A or Pouch B subject to your skill level (see below)!

Introduction:-

Judith has been teaching patchwork & quilting for over 13 years. Many of her patterns and designs have been featured in quilting publications and she is particularly passionate about repurposing textiles and working with denim to make quilts, bags, cushions and, in this case, her fab zippy pouches!

What You Will Learn in this Online Interactive Workshop:-

At this workshop you will learn:

  • How to prep and repurpose denim
  • Best interfacings to use
  • How to set up your sewing machine (needles & thread) for sewing denim
  • The ‘Quilt As You Go’ quilting technique
  • Zippy pouch construction, including covered zipper tabs, inserting a metal zipper and pouch lining

Skill Level for this Online Interactive Workshop:-

Advanced Beginner – has confident use of their sewing machine (including attaching walking foot) and how to measure and cut fabric using a rotary cutter & ruler:-

  • Pouch A is easier to make - quilted onto thinner interfacing and less detailed
  • Pouch B is slightly harder to make – quilted onto thicker foam stabiliser & more detailed with denim characteristics
