Online Interactive Workshop x THREE - Mindul Art Sessions.

Introduction:-

Each Mindful Art Project, is a two hour creative activity which has been designed by Gary Mills from the CraftyMonkies Tea-Time Tutorials on our YouTube channel. The benefits of emerging yourself for a short period of time with a simple and accessible art project, can calm the mind and lift the spirits in these hectic and sometimes stressful times we live in.

What You Will Learn in the THREE x Online Interactive Workshops:-

Session 1 - A Garland of Flowers!

In this session you will be creating a painted and collaged Garland Of Flowers, using printing with water colour paints and then brush techniques to make flower shapes. You will be learning how to further work into the flower designs with coloured pencils to add further definition to your flowers and leaf design. The design is then cut out and assembled to create this very attractive outcome. Makes for a great idea if you are a greetings card maker, but also a piece of Artwork you could frame in a box and add to your gallery of your own.

Session 2 - A Sketchbook Of Poppies!

In this session you will be creating a series of simply drawn and painted Poppies, using various ways of mark making and painting and collaging into each study. You will work on different types of papers to see their results, and how different pens, brushes with water colour paint application can all work differently to achieve very pleasing and professional results. The drawings are then assembled to make a really interesting fold out sketch book containing all the poppy studies you have created in this mindful session.

Session 3 - Funky Portraits!

In this session you will be creating a painted and collaged, stylised Funky Portrait, Gary has taken an image of a well-known South American female artist and redesigned her to perhaps how she may portray herself now in the 21stCentury. Using painting and layering with patterns created with water colour paints to initially make the portraits features and garments. The design is then cut out and assembled to create this very amusing and contemporary outcome. This method could be used to stylise any portrait you choose once you have explored the template and techniques covered in this artful session.

Skill Level for this Online Interactive Workshop:-

Gary has many years’ experience as a professional practitioner and teacher of textiles; his workshops are so enjoyable, fun and very well organised with his clear and patient guidance. This workshop is suitable for all; if you are a beginner these are great projects to learn and understand the processes several processes. For those more experienced and advanced you can further hone your skills by working on improved accuracy and artistic ability to achieve a first-class professional finish.

We will email you the requirements at least one week before the class. Don't worry, the material requirements are the mostly the same for each class. Tickets for this Online Interactive Workshop (via the Zoom platform) will be limited & allocated on a first-come/first-served basis! The ticket price of £60.00 to attend ALL THREE Easy-Art Workshops with Gary Mills in November, January & February is  based on ONE person attending this crafting class.
