Introduction to the Half-Square Triangles Workshop by Sarah:-

I am a huge fan of 'Speedy Patchwork' techniques! If you have a pattern that requires a lot of a particular block then the quicker you can make them the better. For this skills-building class I will be introducing you to a number of different ways to create Half-Square Triangles – one of the most commonly used blocks in patchwork.

What You Will Learn in the Half-Square Triangles Workshop:-

Sarah will show you several different ways of making Half-Square Triangles and a few variations with Quarter-Square Triangles.

She will demonstrate each method and then show you how to change the sizes of block that you need to make. Sarah will outline the strengths and weaknesses of each method, and help you choose which method suits your needs for a given project. She will show you how to mix them with squares to create a wide range of traditional quilt block designs. Sarah will also cover design options for HST projects!

This is a technique-based class rather than a project class, so you will mostly be watching the class rather than sewing along, so please bring along a notebook and pen. You can choose to join in with one of the methods for creating 8 sets of HSTs, or simply watch. Sarah will supply you with a 'cheat sheet' with the measurements after the class.
