Introduction by Scott:-

Hi everyone! Since I learned how to quilt I’ve wanted to create my images and not just recreate someone else's patterns from a book. There are many resources online on how to Foundation Paper Piece (FPP), but hardly any on how to create the design. After much trial and error, I developed a system of designing patterns. It’s not pretty, but the results can be amazing. I will pull back the veil and show you how to create your own FPP pattern from a picture!

What You Will Learn in this Online Interactive Workshop:-

During this workshop, you will learn to take a photo of your choice, and using Adobe Illustrator make your own FPP pattern. I will help you set up your Artboard.  I will show you how to import your image, divide up your image into a workable grid, and start to transform your image into an FPP pattern. Then prepare the pattern for printing and use.

Skill Level for this Online Interactive Workshop:-

For this workshop you will need a basic understanding of Adobe Illustrator, if you are more familiar with another drawing programme such as EQ8 and Pro-Create, they also work - basically, you can adapt this lesson to a programme you are more familiar with; the concepts are the same. Please do note that the workshop will be conducted using Adobe Illustrator.

Material requirements for this Online Interactive Workshop:-

Computer, software programme - ideally Adobe Illustrator. EQ8 and Pro-Create also work. Any sort of drawing programme.

Fabric requirements for this Online Interactive Workshop:-

NONE! This a 'No-Sew' Workshop!
